Nothing evokes more fear and horror than the term self-portrait. For me anyway, and this is the theme we meet this week, in the 2nd week of the Project 52 I am part of with some ladies who met over in the Bloom forum. Last year this theme had me full of reflection in an attempt to take a creative approach, this year I just could not get the momentum. For some reason I have had a bit of a low start to the year and with it being the crazy time at work, all I could manage was a snap in the mirror. In line with my current love for film it is a film image, scanned at home.

Yep, that’s about right, I would say that “horror” and “panic” are words that come to mind for me when I hear the term “self portrait” lol!
I totally have to be in the mood for selfies too, and that mood is soooo rare. I dig the stripes.
awww…love it cara! i need to step it up and challenge myself to shoot my 52′s all in film…even if i have to go to walgreen’s to develop!
I felt the same way! Love your light and colors in this image & so impressed you are doing this with film & scanning at home!
Oh I’m in love with that Mamiya! Your photographs are beautiful, Cara! I’m doubly impressed that you scan at home. Great self portrait.
I know this self portrait is not favorite theme but you make it look easy. Love your film work!!
