This week I have some rushed rolls, I shot in a hurry as I finally bought chemicals and was ready to try and develop my own film. The 1st roll was a disaster, I did not load it properly. I was using a Jobo reel, which I now know the best way to load (NOT how I was doing it the the 1st try- should have followed and instructions and tried a practise load). The 2nd roll was more successful. Next try I will pay a bit more attention to what Im shooting lol.
Film 1: Disaster lol
Ilford HP5 400
Film 2, I did a slightly better job getting it on the reel:
Kodak T Max 400
Next up head to see the beautiful work of Melinda Meredith.

Beautiful shots Cara! Are you developing at home? I’m taking a darkroom class at a local community college this summer so I’m learning how to load film in the dark too – it takes a little bit of practice! Very impressed with your processing – you’ve done a great job!
I think the images were scanned beautifully. Even disaster number one seems really cool to me. Great job!
Very very pretty-even the disaster!
You did a great job-I really love the bw of the 2nd try.
Love the sea bubbles!
Cara, I’m so in awe of you and developing your own. They look fab (even the first “disaster” one!)
Oh my gosh Cara, these are amazing. I am so impressed with that second roll. I love love love the shot of your son jumping off the rocks. I could see that one becoming a big big print! Well done my friend!
[...] For my 1st efforts I used Ilford chemicals and attempted to process 2 films, both involving different measures of chemicals and different times for processing. Below is one of my efforts, check out more on my Film on Friday post here. [...]
