Bloom Project 52 | Week 16/52 | ‘Horizon’

Its week 16 of my Project 52 with the wonderful ladies from the Bloom forum.This week the theme is ‘horizon’ and with a crazy busy week I have had to resort to a couple of horizon shots from some film shot in the last few weeks.

(Oh and the blur of black running along the beach is our dog delighting in the environment).

Bloom Project 52 | Week 15/52 | ‘Earthy’

Its week 15 of my Project 52 with the wonderful ladies from the Bloom forum.This week the theme is ‘earthy’. When I thought of this word, I thought all things natural, and a love for the natural world is a trait I hope I will always see in my boys. This weekend they have been searching for skinks, hiking the coastal cliffs around our home and today fishing (though I secretly try and persuade them from fishing and hope in years to come they will prefer to snorkel and dive and appreciate marine life in its natural environment).

10 on 10|April

I’m participating in a 10 on 10 project with a wonderful group of ladies from over on the Bloom forum. On the 10th of every month (or round about) we will be posting a set of 10 images of a day in our month.

At the moment I am trying to challenge myself to complete the month on a roll of 120, so 16 shots. This month I’ve shot with Kodak Portra.

 1. Everyone starts the day by piling into my bed;  & 2. Some chill out time watching cartoons;

3. Some time playing in the drive in the sun; & 4. The 1st chance to play with my close up filters, I certainly will need to practice to get these right;

5. Cassidy in a moment of calmness; & 6. Lunch time and I finally convinced Cal to put a top on;

7. Afternoon and I convinced the boys to take a walk;

8. Started to wish I had my digital with me along with my film as I tried to capture the spray on the waves hitting the shore in the distance; & 9. Tears of frustration from my little man as I refused to look in every hole we went past (in my defense we were in a bird rookery surrounded by 1000′s of burrows;

10. And finally, I foolishly ran out of film before the sun had provided its best colours and right before a huge pod of dolphins appeared before us. Maybe next time :D .

Continue on to see more head over to see the wonderful work of Jessica, at Jessica Richter Photography.

Bloom Project 52 | Week 13/52 | ‘Silly’

Its time again for this weeks Project 52 post, with the wonderful ladies from the Bloom forum.This week the theme is ‘silly’. The first thing that came to mind for this theme was a shot of the boys when they get over taken with giggles, but when I remembered that Australia’s 1st ‘Tough Mudder’ was a 4 minute down the road this weekend, it seemed perfect. Twenty kilometers of running and crazy obstacles, if thats not silly what is :D ? With 21,000 participants, the highest figure in the world to date, Australia obviously has plenty of silly people around!

Oh and just in case you are wondering what the strings are the people are running through in shots 3 and 4, they are actually live electrical wires, madness.
