Is it really that painful……

Why is it that my boys run in horror when they see the camera? Where do you get one of those childrens who is happy for mum to snap away?

This is what I get when I point the camera at Cal. Shot on Kodak Portra 400.

And a couple more from the same film.

52 weeks with the Bloom Fab 15 | Week 37 | ‘Machinery’

It’s week 36 of my Project 52 and the theme is ‘Machinery’. This is part of a Project 52 with a wonderful group of ladies from over on the Bloom forum. Each week we address a new theme and put our own stamp on it.

Machinery had me stumped, so out of desperation I decided that I would have to settle for some kitchen machinery. Then to stretch the theme a little I got out a piece of ‘machinery’ (my Lensbaby) that I have been to scared to play with and had a try.

52 weeks with the Bloom Fab 15 | Week 36 | ‘Stack/Pile’

It’s week 36 of my Project 52 and the theme is ‘Stack/Pile’. This is all part of a Project 52 with a wonderful group of ladies from over on the Bloom forum. Each week we address a new theme and put our own stamp on it.

This week I had one thing planned when another opportunity suddenly presented and I snapped at the new chance. I was still in bed when I heard the boys emptying their money boxes and start sorting their money, I quickly jumped out of bed grabbed my film camera, which had about 4 shots left and snapped. The light was full of shadows but it seemed to be so much in tune with this weeks theme. Its my 1st roll of b/w, with Kodak b/w 400cn. This uses c41 processing and I used cheap chainstore processing, unfortunatly it all had a green tint, not sure if this was, me the film or the cheap scanning? Anyway attempted to get rid of the green, in the process making it a bit too pink…..

52 weeks with the Bloom Fab 15 | Week 35 | ‘Neighborhood Walk’

It’s week 35 of my Project 52 and the theme is ‘Neighborhood Walk’. For anyone who is not familiar with the project, I am part of a Project 52 with a wonderful group of ladies from over on the Bloom forum. Each week we address a new theme and put our own slant on it.

While some weeks are successes others are disasters and this week fits into the latter category. After a beautiful weekend last week this weekend winter has revisited us. I finally managed to drag (and only after bribery) the boys out of the house and about 20 meters up the road Rory turned tail and raced home, while Cal burst into tears.

So out of time we got in the car for the 2 minutes it takes to get down the road and around the corner. We went out on a point slightly off our usual track and shot a couple of quick pics before more massive melt downs and a drive home listening to the music of Rory crying and whinging how mean and nasty mummy was taking him out in the wind.

(Wind caused an instant runny nose).

10 on 10…… Playing with film

Its the 2nd month of a 10 on 10 challenge  I am part of with a group of photographers from over on the Bloom forum. On the 10th of every month we post  a series of 10 images which represent a day in our lives. Usually it is a shot per hour, for a period of 10 hours.

This month I decided to play with film for the challenge. I am new to film but loving having a play. It tests my patience something I could do with having a bit more of :D . Oh and just for your own challenge see how many changes of wardrobes you can spot, no wonder I am always washing.

To see more ’10 on 10′s’ head over to Vicky’s blog, from Life in a Frame Photography.

This weeks images are shot on 35mm, Kodak Portra 400.

52 weeks with the Bloom Fab 15 | Week 34 | ‘Road’

It’s week 34 of my Project 52 and the theme is ‘Road’. For anyone who is not familiar with the project, I am part of a Project 52 with a wonderful group of ladies from over on the Bloom forum. Each week we address a new theme and put our own slant on it.

This week I decided to try for putting the theme on film. I have recently started to play with film, as a child i loved going through our family photos and in this digital age my photos usually do not go beyond the computer. So for this reason and many more I have been playing with film.

This weeks shots are were taken on Kodak Portra 400.

(Disclaimer: I did not choose these sunglasses, unfortunately when it comes to clothes and accessories this is one determined little man and I have no say at all).
